The refuge “Gen. Achille Papa” is located at the Porte del Pasubio, at 1928 m on the massif of the same name, at the head of the Val Canale, in a panoramic position on the southern side of the mountain and is named after General Achille Papa.
It was built in 1921 on what remained of a masonry shelter of the barracks of the First World War, located away from the Austrian artillery.
Over the years it has undergone various modernization and restoration works and today the Papa Refuge, owned by the CAI of Schio, is a refuge open throughout the summer period, from June to mid-October, and on weekends until mid-November.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The restaurant service of the refuge is located on the first floor of the structure, is active for lunch from 11:30 to 15:30 and is accessed from the external staircase that leads to the terrace on the left of the building, west side.
It is possible to have lunch both in the table places located on the outdoor terrace and those inside the structure. Outdoor tables can accommodate up to 10 people, so they can be shared. The possibility of moving between the two zones will depend on the availability of the moment.
We do not accept reservations. When you arrive at the Refuge, just ask for the availability of a table and possibly wait your turn.
Animal
Pets are allowed only on the outdoor terrace.

GENERAL INFORMATIONS
Booking beds: we advise that the words: “not bookable online contacted to check availability” indicates that the room is already fully occupied.
The individual beds are indicated as accommodation, while to book more beds within a single room or camerone select the button “book more accommodation, which appears in the upper right corner, once the date of arrival and departure.
Half board service: to use the half board service (bed, dinner and breakfast) or special discounts (CAI members, under 25…) write it in the notes.
Use of credit card: the insertion of the credit card serves only as a guarantee, no cost will be charged. The bill is paid in the shelter before departure.
Cancellation of the reservation: in case the trip is cancelled with at least 15 days’ notice, the deposit paid will be fully refunded, while if the cancellation occurs in the immediate vicinity of the trip, due to adverse weather forecasts, we keep the deposit valid for another available date in the current season. It is understood that at least 10 days before the trip, the precise number of places that you wish to reserve must be confirmed. Any further change in the number of participants must be communicated at least three days before the date of the trip, under penalty of reimbursement of the deposit.
