Paths
There is not only the Strada delle 52 Gallerie, but there are also many other beautiful paths that lead to the Rifugio Papa.
We remind you that it is not a difficult hike but the ‘Strada delle Gallerie’ is a path that develops with 800 m. of elevation gain and reaches 2000 m. of altitude. Requires a minimum of training, good physical condition, and adequate equipment. Normally at 2000 m you find temperatures 10/15 degrees lower than the plain, once you take the route there are no exit routes, you must get to the end of the road where you find the refuge or return to the initial parking. Before leaving remember to check the weather forecast.
In addition, we thought of a game you can do safely along all the paths, linked to the observation and discovery of local flora and fauna.
1. Road of 52 Galleries (CAI 366)
Distance: 6,5 km
Difficulty: Experienced hikers
Duration: 3 h
Altitude difference: 784 uphill

The terrain along the tunnels could be wet and slippery, and make sure you have a torch for longer tunnels
2. Path of Scarubbi (CAI 370)
Distance: 10,5 km
Difficulty: hiking
Duration: 3 h
Altitude difference: 703 uphill
It is often used as a return path after the 52 Tunnels, creating a ring

3. Path of heroes (CAI 179+399)
Distance: 9 km
Difficulty: hiking
Duration: 4 h
Altitude difference: 800 uphill
